Despite popular belief, oral contracts are enforceable. They usually are not in your best interests, and end in a "he said, she said" battle. But as long as there is enough evidence, a court will enforce an oral agreement. However, there is one particular exception to this rule, and it's called the Statute of Frauds. An oral contract is a spoken agreement between parties that is sometimes legally binding. An issue that arises with proving an oral contract is the lack of tangible evidence. An oral contract legal case often relies on the fact that one or both parties are clearly relying on the agreement. Despite popular belief, oral contracts are enforceable.
